About Jenne

So who is this Jenne person, and why does she create music? Here she is:

I've been a practicing Pagan since the age of 12. I'm currently the Bard of an ADF Druid grove and a Witch that identifies with the Reclaiming tradition. (Don't know what these things are? Visit www.witchvox.com.) My matron is the goddess Brigid, so I tend to write songs in her honor. I also work with Hera, Persephone, Hades and Ganesha, among others.

I sang and wrote songs when I was a little girl, giving them up in the usual fit of adolescent angst. In 1997, I had a vision while walking a labyrinth that inspired me to take up voice lessons again, and I've been singing ever since. My years between girlhood and 1997 weren't idle on the creative front, however; during that period, I was a published poet (which, I suppose, counts as an accomplishment of a sort).

Other random facts: I have a Ph.D. in English. I love to jog. My favorite authors are Ursula LeGuin, Jeannette Winterson, Susan Griffin and Starhawk (although I have many loves on that front). I love Emily Dickinson, Keats and Tennyson. I can put my feet behind my head and sing at the same time.
The music I listen to comes from every part of the world, except Antarctica.
